When the Kenmore brand started, it developed a sewing machine, releasing its first model in 1913. Due to the success of the first sewing machine, the company introduced washing machines a few years later, followed by detergents, kitchen appliances. ranges, etc.
Despite its long-standing popularity, Kenmore doesn’t make its own products. While the company is based in Chicago, Illinois, it does not have a dedicated factory or assembly line there. In fact, Kenmore’s range of appliances are manufactured by some of the world’s leading appliance manufacturers, most notably the Kenmore brand.
Each of the different Kenmore appliances is made with a different type of appliance, many of which you’ve probably heard of. For example, Kenmore products that use water in a different way such as dishwashers and washing machines are manufactured primarily by Whirlpool. Cooking and kitchen appliances such as ovens, ranges, and refrigerators are manufactured primarily by Frigidaire, with support from Whirlpool and LG. Kenmore vacuums were originally made by Panasonic, but after Panasonic dropped out of the Western appliance scene in 2017, another company called Cleva took over.
