NASHVILLE, Tennessee. (AP) — Tennessee Titans coach Mike Wrabel shook up his coaching staff and announced Tuesday that he has promoted Tim Kelly to offensive coordinator from passing game coordinator.

Vrabel also announced several new hires and changes to his staff.

The Titans added Charles London of Atlanta to replace Kelly, hired last year as a passing game coordinator, as the new passing game coordinator and quarterback coach; Chris Harris is the new defensive game coordinator and cornerback coach.

Vrabel also hired the franchise’s first full-time female coach, adding Laurie Locust as Tampa Bay’s defensive quality control coach, along with Justin Hamilton in the same position.

Tony Deuce switches from running back coaching and two-time NFL leader Derrick Henry to tight ends, while Luke Steckel transitions from tight end coach to new Titans game analyst. Defensive coach Pat O’Hara is now a pass analyst.

Jason Houtaling becomes offensive line coach. Tennessee still has to hire a running coach.

Kelly will replace Todd Downing, who was fired after two seasons. Before joining the Titans for the 2022 season, Kelly worked with the Houston Texans from 2014 to 2021, with the last three seasons as an offensive coordinator.

He played college defensively for Eastern Illinois and began coaching in 2008 as an alumnus assistant to the Illinois Wesleyan. the same role.

London has spent the past two seasons coaching quarterbacks in Atlanta for former Tennessee offensive coordinator-turned-Falcons head coach Arthur Smith. The Titans had their best offensive performance of 2020 in Smith’s final season as coordinator. London was interviewed last month for a position as Washington offensive coordinator.

Harris spent eight seasons in the NFL and spent the last nine as a coach. He’s spent the last three seasons coaching Washington’s defensemen. He also coached the Chargers and began coaching in 2013 with Chicago, where Harris began his NFL career in 2005.

The Locust has spent the past four seasons as an assistant defensive line coach for Tampa Bay, including the Buccaneers’ Super Bowl victory in the 2020 season.
