After the huge numbers in India and across the world on the opening day, the second day had a huge hit even though it was a working day. Today, being Saturday, we’re all set to see the blockbuster numbers come in, and here’s everything you need to know about day 3 pre-booking!
Soon after its release, the actor saw several obstacles coming his way. In Thalapathy Vijay’s stronghold of Tamil Nadu, the film faced a lot of trouble as permission for special screenings was not granted, and even many popular theaters are not screening the film due to alleged sharing issues. For the Hindi version, National Cinema Chains (mainly PVRInox and Cinepolis) are not targeting the film due to the 4-week OTT window.
Crossing all these obstacles, Leo began to fly, and the journey continues. Yesterday, advance booking closed on 20.50 million gross (no reserved seats) and over 11 lakh ticket sales. Today, for example, the 3rd day, the film has shown a good movement when the numbers were closed 20.88 million shit. This is big for the third day, and being Saturday today, big ticket sales are being shown all over the country.
Apart from Tamil, all Leo languages have shown growth ahead of schedule, especially Hindi. In just a week, the film will become the biggest hit in India for Thalapathy Vijay. As the word of mouth is good, it will come out as a pure box office in the long run, which was very important for the actor.
Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Leo also stars Trisha Krishnan, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Sarja, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Madonna Sebastian, George Maryan, and others in key roles. It is playing in five Indian languages - Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
Before its release, the film was said to be part of Lokesh Kanagaraj’s LCU (Lokesh Cinematic Universe). The suspense was kept by the makers till the release of the biggie but the subtle hints were already given. As it is in theaters now, the film has been officially confirmed as part of the LCU.
