A limited release, Khichdi 2 has managed to bring in some numbers on Saturday. There was a little growth that came to the comedy like 1.35 million a lot went in. On Friday, the film had started 1.10 million so having about 25% growth is fine.
Of course, in the case of small films then the scope should be large when they start at such levels. As seen with 12th Fail a few weeks ago, the film went on to double on Saturday. This was not the case for Khichdi 2 and understandably so. Apart from that, this movie has very little interest and it is very popular among the people of Gujarat and other parts of Maharashtra. There is not much about the audience in the north and that is reflected in the show and all the groups it represents. 2.45 million.
It’s not as if the film is facing any competition from Tiger 3 either as the Salman Khan starrer has its own strength and the excitement there has settled again. This means that if Khichdi 2 is to grow strongly then it has the stage and platform to do so. Of course, it won’t happen today because of the World Cup final but from Monday it can continue to do regular business if there is something to attract the audience.
