Heavy/ABC “Dancing With the Stars” judge.

“Dancing With the Stars” guest judge Michael Strahan has been out of the public eye for nearly two weeks due to a private family matter.

Strahan, a veteran host of “Good Morning America,” will miss work for the third straight week, a network spokesman confirmed. “Michael Strahan will not be with us this week as he is dealing with some personal family matters. “We appreciate everyone’s thoughts and concerns,” an ABC spokesperson told USA Today and other media outlets on November 6, 2023.

Strahan, 51, last appeared on “Good Morning America” on Thursday, October 26. ABC News’ Juju Chang and Linsey Davis have stepped in for the morning show host during his absence, which has not been explained.

Strahan joined “Good Morning America” in 2016 after retiring from “Live!” With Kelly and Michael.” The announcement of the former NFL player’s exit surprised co-host Kelly Ripa, who resigned from the job a few days later. Ripa finally stopped by to give Strahan a proper farewell.

Strahan is also silent on social media. His last Instagram post was on October 25, when he posted a promo for the game show he hosts, $100,000 Pyramid.

On the same day, he shared some posts on the X app but did not return to the platform.

According to TV Insider, Strahan’s twin daughters Isabella and Sophia have not posted at all on social media due to his absence from public view. The twins’ 19th birthday on October 28th passed without any Instagram activity.

In addition to his twin daughters, whom he shares with ex-wife Jean Muggli, the TV host is father to Tanita, 31, and Michael Jr., 28, from his marriage to his first wife Wanda Hutchins, according to People.

A little over two weeks before he disappeared from the public eye, “Dancing with the Stars” fans saw Strahan as a guest judge alongside Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli. Strahan criticized dancers during the Motown Night episode.

“Motown is incredible music. Motown is an atmosphere. Motown is perfect for tonight because we have great dancing along with great music,” Strahan said on camera, according to Good Morning America. The veteran broadcaster also got some pointers from Inaba, who gave him tips on how to hold his paddle and warned him to limit his reviews to 20 seconds.
