Heavy/Bravo Lisa Vanderpump calls Bethenny Frankel’s claims “lies.”
Lisa Vanderpump didn’t bite her tongue when it came to addressing former “Real Housewives” star Bethenny Frankel.
While attending BravoCon 2023 in Las Vegas, Vanderpump discussed Frankel’s “Reality Reckoning” and addressed some of the former RHONY star’s claims.
“I am so grateful to NBC and Bravo for a great television career. You’ve gotten so much crap lately from so many people you know used to work for you. [and] I think it’s a shame,” Vanderpump told Us Weekly. “You also have to look at what they’ve given you,” she added.
Vanderpump then chimed in and talked about Frankel’s interview with former “Vanderpump Rules” star Raquel Leviss.
Here’s what you need to know:
Lisa Vanderpump criticized Bethenny Frankel’s interview with Raquel Leviss
After a scandal that rocked the Bravo universe for months, Leviss decided to do her first interview with Frankel. Leviss was a guest on the Just B podcast, where the two discussed Leviss’ affair with Tom Sandoval.
“I think she should have come back and talked to me,” Vanderpump told Us Weekly. She said she gave Leviss a safe space to express her opinions. She then accused Frankel of telling “lies.”
“I don’t like the lies that are being spread about Bravo and NBC and Bethenny saying, ‘Oh, she was paid like an intern.’ And I said, “No, she got a couple hundred thousand dollars, that’s not true.” And she turned around and said, “Oh, that’s a lie.” No, it’s not, it’s a fact – like that a lot you got paid,” Vanderpump said.
“I think when people want to be great authorities on something, they check their facts,” she later said. “And I also don’t like the degeneration of someone like NBC and Bravo, who have given these people so much, so many opportunities,” she added.
Lisa Vanderpump doesn’t support Bethenny Frankel’s Reality Reckoning
Vanderpump has been pretty critical of Frankel in recent months. When Frankel pushed for the creation of some kind of reality TV union to properly compensate reality TV stars, Vanderpump was extremely critical.
“I don’t really understand how you can create a union for people who are normally brought out of the darkness,” Vanderpump said on an August 2023 episode of “The Envelope” podcast.
And while Frankel has received some support from other reality TV stars, there were also others who didn’t have her back. “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Erika Jayne also recently shared her thoughts on “Reality Reckoning.”
“She’s interesting to me,” Erika Jayne said of Frankel on “Two Ts in a Pod” in August 2023.
“I think in some ways I agree with her, but in others I’m like, ‘If you hate reality TV and it was so bad, why would we continue the conversation?’ She’s made enough money to do her own thing and that’s great… You’ve done really well and you have reality TV to thank for that,” she added.
