Brawn’s Journey is a well-known fairy tale and worthy of a cinematic interpretation. In 2009, Honda sold its Formula 1 team to former team principal Ross Brawn for £1. The only thing was that the team could not be disbanded and would continue to work in the F1 competition at the highest level. With support from Mercedes, Brawn got off to a great start, winning the first few races of that season.
Behind the wheel was British driver Jenson Button, who won his first race that same year. After winning seven of the opening seven races of 2009, Button struggled for pole position throughout the year, but still managed to claim the Constructors’ title for himself and the Brawn team. The whole saga is also very painful.
On the one hand, Brawn shot Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel, Kimi Räikkönen, and Fernando Alonso with Button at the helm. However, neither Button, nor Brawn were able to repeat the glorious headlines of the 2009 season. With a juicy story and Reeves’ charismatic character narrating a fast-paced drama, “Brawn: The Impossible Formula 1 Story” looks like a must-watch. Luckily, you won’t have to wait long to feel the adrenaline rush, as all four episodes will drop on November 15th for Hulu viewers.
