Jailed suspected fraudster Sukesh Chandrashekhar has released another letter in which he claims he never proposed to TV series actress Chahatt Khanna when she came to meet him in Tihar prison.
Chandrashekhar’s testimony comes after Khanna claimed in an interview with a national newspaper that she was caught on a visit to Tihar prison, where he knelt before her and proposed marriage. When she told him that she is already married and has two children, she was told that her husband was not the right man for her.
Chahatt Khanna also told the publication that it was only after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) subpoenaed her in the alleged racketeering case – just over a year ago – that she learned that Sukesh Chandrashekhar was not the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, J. Jayalalithaa’s nephew.
In a letter to the media, Sukesh Chandrashekhar, who is being held in the capital’s Mandoli prison, claimed that he never proposed to Khanna and that she came to a business meeting for a film production offer, which is also recorded in her statement to the ED.
“I’ve had no interest in dating women who are already married or have children. I’m not desperate like those gold diggers like Chahatt. My association with Chahatt, Nikki, was purely for professional reasons, which is where the meetings took place and the advance was paid,” he said in his letter.
“Chahatt says she didn’t know she was in Tihar!! How can someone not know they’re going to jail for a mulaka? If she were a 10-year-old, even a 10-year-old would know what prison looks like,” Sukesh Chandrashekhar continued.
“She claims that she was tricked by Pinky (Chadrashekhar’s assistant Pinky Irani), so I would want to ask an actress who has done so many projects and is a well-connected person how they trust someone blindly and all the way there can travel delhi and get into tihar jail all alone? She’s a trained liar. It shows what kind of stories she’s doing now,” he said.
“If she came to Tihar to meet me or if I called her as she claims, why hasn’t she reported anything to anyone or the police since 2018, what has stopped her from filing a complaint all these years?” he added.
An investigation is ongoing into a money laundering case involving Chandrashekhar and Bollywood actors, including Jacqueline Fernandez and Nora Fatehi, who have also been questioned in connection with the case.
Earlier this month, the Patiala House Court in Delhi adjourned arguments in the alleged money laundering case and the matter will next be heard on February 15.
