Jason Momoa Should Try to Get Amber Heard Cast in Aquaman 2 (Image Credit: IMDB)
There is a lot of drama surrounding Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom, which focuses more on the controversy surrounding it and less on the actual content of the film. Although we have the trailer, there are also a few changes that followed. The first was, of course, the claim that Jason Momoa dressed up as Johnny Depp to make fun of Amber Heard and try to get her out of the movie. And the next thing is that he is stepping down from Aquaman and will now be playing Lobo in James Gunn’s DCU. Now DC Legend Kevin Smith has decided to talk about it.
For the uninitiated, it was recently reported according to documents that fans obtained from the court that contained Heard’s testimony. It was reported that Momoa wanted Heard from Aquaman 2, and she even showed up drunk on set. After that, he was rejected by Warner Bros., who called Momoa a conservative artist.
DC legend Kevin Smith, who has followed several actors, has now decided to share his thoughts on all these events. Although he supported Jason Momoa in speaking out against the claims, he feels that the actor is a good fit to play Lobo. Read on to find out everything you need to know about this exciting change of date.
As ComicBook, Kevin Smith was on the Fatman Beyond podcast where he was asked about reports of Jason Momoa coming to Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom, aka Aquaman 2 where he gets drunk and dresses like Johnny Depp to challenge Amber Heard. Smith said, “I don’t think he’s just dressed like Johnny Depp. I think he’s just dressed like Johnny Depp, the layout and s-like that.”
Kevin Smith, speaking about the alleged plot of Aquaman 2 added, “I noticed, one thing I read in the news that I said, ‘Okay, I think I understand,’ is that they do tests and check. …in the comics, Black Manta killed Aquaman’s son, he is Mera’s son. It’s a classic comic book story, and it seems like they incorporated it into the movie, where Black Manta kills Aquaman and Mera’s son, and the audience walked out. They were like ‘f–k this.’ I can look at it, if some audience members are like, ‘I don’t come to a high-end movie theater to watch a dead kid,’ but the comic book guy in me was like, ‘Okay, that’s what they did in the comics. It sounds like they’re changing. this movie so much. Guys, they’ve had, at least, two Batmans in this movie. They had Michael Keaton’s Batman, and they had Ben Affleck’s Batman.
When Kevin Smith was asked about the rumors that Jason Momoa would stop being Aquaman and play Lobo in Superman: Legacy or in a standalone film, he said, “That honestly makes sense. He looks like Lobo.”
