Timing matters. “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Erika Jayne explained the context behind the “Hellevator” moment from the show’s Nov. 15 episode in an Instagram Live from that evening.
During the episode, the RHOBH cast prepared to leave Las Vegas, where they had gone to celebrate Crystal Kung Minkoff’s birthday. On the way out of the hotel, the elevator doors opened to reveal Jayne’s boyfriend Mikey Minden and his boyfriend Davis, who were appearing on the “Magic Mike” show the ladies had attended. Jayne called Sutton Stracke to apologize for leaving the Magic Mike show, which upset Stracke.
Later in the episode, Stracke claimed, “Erika in particular embarrassed me on purpose. Cue elevator doors: “Oh Sutton!” Now’s your chance, you can apologize!’ What the hell?”
In her Instagram Live, Jayne was willing to share details about the moment and make it clear that this was not intentional on her part.
Erika Jayne took the opportunity to apologize to Sutton Stracke
“As a group, we were all in our suite getting ready to leave Las Vegas. We were literally at the door. And if you know anything about these shows, there’s always coverage,” Jayne said, clarifying that a producer captured the “Hellevator” moment on his phone rather than a standard handheld camera used for filming.
“We were on our way out when the damn elevators opened. I see Davis and I say, ‘This is it.’ Sutton, this is your moment. “Apologies to the wonderful artists leaving their show. “And I think everyone, myself included, was a little gagged,” Jayne added. “It was like the reality TV gods placed this moment in my lap and I jumped over it. It is what it is. You can’t make it up.
When it came to claims that she organized the moment to get Stracke up, Jayne told her followers: “You can’t put up elevators in Las Vegas.” If so, I could dictate the weather, and if so, I could imagine one build a better life and it wouldn’t be here.”
On Watch What Happens Live alongside Stracke, host Andy Cohen asked country singer Maren Morris, “Did you feel like Sutton overreacted to the Magic Mike elevator collision or do you agree with her?” “That the whole thing was a failure?” Setup that Erika orchestrated?”
Morris disagreed with Stracke that Jayne had set up the moment, saying that she felt Stracke may have overreacted a little when he was called out, but she didn’t know everything Stracke was going through at the time.
Bravo releases first trailer for Erika Jayne’s spinoff special
In October 2023, it was announced that Jayne had landed a multi-part documentary special about the conception of her Las Vegas residency, “Bet It All On Blonde,” and at BravoCon 2023, the network shared a first look at the spin off.
In the first look, Jayne is seen behind the scenes dealing with the fallout from her impending divorce from Tom Girardi as she works with her director/choreographer Minden to bring the show to life. The special is scheduled to air on Bravo in spring 2024.
Speaking to TooFab about the miniseries at BravoCon, Jayne said: “Putting a show together is a lot. Whether costumes, choreography, the budget. All the design and rehearsals, it’s a lot. And it’s a great personal journey that comes to an end along with many other sub-themes. And it’s an emotional moment for me.”
